Revision - Gender Representation.

Analysis of 'Doctors', Series 15, ep 157.
Representation of women

http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b03ktskx/

How are the women represented? Sexualised, powerful, stereotyped?
Teenage girl- She is smart, mature and hardworking.
Girls mum- Stereotypical mother, stays at home and it quite powerful.
Nurse(?)- Looked down on by male, often criticised and patronised by him, but becomes rather powerful towards the end.

Analysis of Dolce & Gabbana The One "Street of Dreams"

Representation of men.

The man in this advert is powerful and seems superior to the female character. Some aspects which make me think this are:

-He drives the car
-He seems like a business man
-He leads the woman
-He is older
-He stands in a powerful position on the balcony
-He picks the woman up in his car
-The woman is always looking at him in admiration
-He compliments her

Also, the male audience can relate to Matthew McConaughey and find Scarlett Johansson attractive, and vice versa for the female audience.
